How do I edit the navigation menu for my site in Drupal

  1. Log in to Drupal
  2. Go to your department website homepage.
  3. Make sure that https:// is in the address bar (shown below)
  4. Hover your mouse over the top right corner of your site's menu, and click the cog wheel that appears (shown below)

    then click List links.
  5. Click on Add link from the screen than pops up (shown below)
  6. Fill in the title of your page in the Menu link title field (shown below)
  7. Fill in the title of your address of your page in the Path field (shown below)

This should be indentical to the URL alias you have given your page, i.e. the part after the part of the address.
  8. Make sure that the following settings are set:

    • Enabled should be ticked.
    • Show as expanded should be unticked
    • The selection in the Parent link drop-down should match the name of your site
All other settings can be safely ignored, left as they are and do not need to be modified.
  9. Click Save at the bottom of the screen. You will then see an updated list of all the links in your menu. (shown below)
  10. Click the Move icon next to your new menu item and drag it into the appropriate place in your menu structure. (shown below)

You can drag an item under another menu item in the menu structure/tree by dragging it to the right.
  11. Once you have moved your new menu link into the correct place, click Save configuration (shown below) as otherwise Drupal will not save the new order of the links.

Once you've clicked Save configuration, you'll see a message like the one below telling you that your changes have been saved successfully.
